Split tunneling (beta) for macOS

New beta feature for macOS

Following Android, NymVPN now includes the second beta version of split tunneling. So give it a spin on macOS: choose which apps you want to include in the NymVPN tunnel, and which you want to exclude.

This is a beta feature and is still in development. Let us know how it’s working for you..
Split tunneling (beta) on macOS requires Full Disk Access. This allows you to view and choose the available apps you have on your device. To enable, click Open Settings and approve access in your macOS permissions

What’s coming next for split tunneling on NymVPN

Split tunneling (beta) is being developed for Windows, Linux, and iOS for coming releases
A more advanced form of split tunneling is also being developed which will allow you to route specific apps through either the NymVPN Fast mode or Anonymous mode.

Thanks to new deeplinking, you can more easily connect your account between your NymVPN app and nym.com. The app will generate a secure code which you can use to access your account on the web rather than having to log in again with your 24-word passphrase.

Improved secured authentication

NymVPN has introduced new privacy and safety enhancements to the secure communication between the daemon and apps. This follows recommendations by the Cure53 security audit completed in 2025.

🚨 For Linux users: There is a new authentication protocol on Linux devices which requires you to install policykit-1-gnome.

🚨 For macOS: These changes will be live in a subsequent release.

New diagnostics tool for Android

A new diagnostic tool has been added to the logs to improve optional bug reporting to the Nym team.
