NymVPN will no longer support macOS Ventura 13 in 2026
What Mac users need to know for upcoming releases of NymVPN
Share
NymVPN will end support for macOS Ventura 13 in early January 2026. If you're still on Ventura, please update to macOS Sonoma 14 or above.
Why we're making this change
Apple is ending security updates for macOS Ventura 13 in Q4 of 2025, so the NymVPN team has decided to drop support for this version in early January 2026. This effectively means that NymVPN will no longer be supported by Mac devices built in 2017 or prior. Here’s is why:
- Security first: Without Apple's security patches, Ventura becomes increasingly vulnerable. Continuing to support an unpatched OS would compromise the security and privacy foundation that NymVPN is built on.
- Focus on innovation: Maintaining compatibility with older OS versions requires significant development resources. By focusing on actively supported macOS versions, we can dedicate more time to building new privacy features, improving performance, and fixing bugs.
- Industry standard: Major software vendors are making the same decision. This is standard practice when operating systems reach end-of-life.
What this means for you
- If you're on macOS Sonoma 14 or newer: Nothing! You'll continue receiving all NymVPN updates automatically.
- If you're still on macOS Ventura 13: NymVPN will continue working and receiving updates until end of 2025. After this date, we can’t guarantee that NymVPN will continue fully functioning. You will need to update to macOS Sonoma 14, Sequoia 15, or Tahoe 26 before January 2026.

NymVPN & Ventura 13: FAQs
The NymVPN app up until the “Jackfruit” release will continue to function. Apps from the “Kiwi” release will not be officially compatible with macOS Ventura 13. The app may or may not function or only with limited functionalities. We strongly recommend updating your OS.
If your Mac hardware doesn't support macOS 14 or newer, unfortunately you won't be able to use future versions of NymVPN. Consider using NymVPN on a different device (iOS, Android, Windows, or Linux).
No. Your subscription works across all supported platforms. If you can't upgrade your Mac, you can continue using NymVPN on other devices.
Supporting unsupported operating systems creates security risks and diverts resources from improving NymVPN for the vast majority of users on current OS versions.
